Right, so we're moving into our new house in a few weeks and for the first time in a long while, I have the opportunity to customise a room dedicated to games, TV and drinking. I frequently have anywhere from 2-8 people round for epic sessions so I've been thinking about it and have a few ideas.
Cinema style sofas:
Construct a foot-high platform and put a sofa on top of it, throw another sofa in front of that and you get an awesome stacked pair of sofas with a decent amount of storage space underneath the rear sofa. Maximum view for maximum gaming and maximum comfort for maximum people... to the max.
7 foot projector screen:
Oh hell yeah. We've got hold of two ex-education HD projectors that work really well. They were probably stolen from a school or something, but that's not for me to worry about! Bolt a cabinet with a projector above the rear sofa, make a few adjustments, and voila:

dude, truly epic. believe it or not i've seen a house with a cinema inside it like that, coolest thing i ever saw was grand theft auto on a huge wall. im not sure i could be any more jealous :P

I love projection screens for movies, but if you're planning on playing a vid game persay the large size seems to make playing harder, I'd go with a big HDTV, somewhere plus 60 inches, but yeah it looks awesome

I want a projector in my mancave.
I would place the minibar in a more social area so you dont have to enter this room whenever you want to prepare a drink (ie while having visits)
Even when you want to take a lot of people in there, I don't consider it a social area because the seat placement disrupts the social interaction, so the minibar would be just a service zone wich has the same functionality as if it was in another room. Where it would serve a dual function, with your cave and with the social area.

Dope. I used to go to this place the farm and they had a movie theater. It was 4 levels and every level was completely cushioned even the walls... I dropped acid and watched a clockwork orange there for the first time... sick... Definitely raise the rear couch. following
it's definitely an art, and everyone has their favorite genre (mine is minimalist)

Oh, and also, as some guy pointed to earlier, the two sofas isnt too great. Get a really big L-shaped sofa. That way everyone is in a line so to speak so the atmosphere would be much better.

Wow. I cant wait for the chance to build a man room for my husband. His would be reto gaming themed with a collection of still functioning arcade game units and black painted walls with glow in the dark gaming posters or wall murals. I gotta thrown in atleast 2 computers that are good enoguh to play Crisis on the highest setting too.
I am so jealous. Where did you get the projectors from tho? Was it a gift or from a second hand shop or what?
