Exams: 2 down, 2 to go.

My first exam was last Monday and was on Professional Issues in Software Engineering. Fun. It went really well and I already got a high mark in the assignment which counts for 50% of the module.

Today I had my 100% exam paper on Internet Services Administration and I did... okay. For me, it's the hardest module of the four because the module covers a load of topics...

Email Services, Naming and Directory Services, File Storage, Server Admin, Services and Process Management, System startup/shutdown, Remote Access, Management of Webservers, Current and Future Issues, File Services (Backup, Support and Restoration), Network Security, User Requirements,  Cryptography, Steganography, Firewalls and Regulations

...all in one exam.

On Thursday I have my 100% Small Real-Time Systems exam, and Friday afternoon I have my Intelligent Robotics exam. I've already done well enough in my previous semester to pass my total degree, it's just a case of striving to get the most marks that I can.

I'll be honest - I wasn't expecting to have to do much of the above content considering that my degree is supposed to be about Vision, Visualisations, Graphics and Games - but that's computer science for you.

After Friday... I'm done. Bliss.

That sounds like a lot, but interesting, too.

You should tell us more about your study sometime! (especially since I'm still pondering wether or not to do a similar study)

That sounds like an awesome test....

Tests like that give me interesting things to reflect on, as I am now done with college.

Honestly... thank god they are over....

that Internet Services Administration class must have been a total waste.. there is no way you can cover all of that in 1 class... there are at least 5 whole class topics on your list..

nice! Im a system engineer too.
Studied application development first, then a year of networking. How can all these topic be in one exam? I had them all seperate and windows+linux... btw: network security is a great course!(mine was at least)

Computer science was a discouraging degree to me (as were all tech degrees, really), because it seems like all you learn is obsolete so fast!

That is the thing about degrees, they always manage to pound in extra crap. Sometimes to charge you more money, sometimes to weed out the weak ones in the field.

Best of luck to you buddy! Had a networking exam 2 Wednesdays back where I basically wrote how to completely program a Cisco router and switch from the ground up. It was lovely!

Hmm.. I had a class about IT infrastructures that was maybe half of the topics you listed and I still thought they weren't near in depth enough. Hopefully you still learned something useful though!
